What are phosphorus compounds?

The majority of phosphorus-containing compounds are produced for use as fertilizers. For this purpose, phosphate-containing minerals are converted to phosphoric acid. Two distinct routes are employed; the main one is treatment of phosphate minerals with sulfuric acid.
